Bill the lessons a parent can count

Tutoring is usually paid by a parent who was not in the room. The text has to tell them how many lessons happened and for which student. A pack of past papers or a mock exam is a separate line. A missed lesson is charged only under a rule you have already written down, and the line should say “late cancel” rather than pretending the lesson happened. Net 7 works for a monthly parent. Due on receipt works for a single mock.

Message you can send

Amira’s four lessons this month, plus the past-paper pack, due in 7 days: https://invoicetxt.com/i/your-link

01

Student name in the SMS

Parents with two children will not guess.

02

Lesson count at the agreed rate

Four lessons at 35 should match the calendar they have.

03

Materials as a small separate line

A past-paper pack is not a lesson.

04

Send it at the end of the block

A monthly tutor who invoices on the last Friday gets paid more calmly than one who invoices at random.

What to put on this invoice

  • The student’s name
  • The number of lessons
  • Materials or a mock fee
  • The month or the dates

Questions about this job

Who do I text, the student or the parent?

Text the person who pays. You can tell the student the lesson happened without sending them the invoice.

What about a package of ten?

Invoice the package once, say “10 lessons”, and do not also invoice each lesson as it happens.

Should a sibling discount show?

Yes. A line or a lower rate is clearer than a total they cannot reconcile.

Parents approve what they can count. Give them the count in the first sentence.
