Best alternative to QuickBooks for text invoicing

QuickBooks is accounting software. It is a poor place to type a doorstep invoice into a text. Use InvoiceTXT to send the bill. Keep QuickBooks if you use it for the books.

Do not throw out the books to fix the text

People search for a QuickBooks alternative when they are standing on a roof and the app wants a customer record, a product code and a tax mapping before it will show a total. That pain is real. It does not mean the bookkeeping should move into a text message. InvoiceTXT will take the repair, the tiles and the due date and give you a link to text. It will not file your sales tax, reconcile the bank or run payroll. If those are why you pay for QuickBooks, stay. If you never used those and you only needed to send a bill, you may not need both.

Message you can send

Rear slope repair invoiced, labour and tiles, due in 14 days: https://invoicetxt.com/i/your-link

01

Create the customer-facing invoice where the typing is short

The line above is the whole capture.

02

Text the link from the phone you already use

QuickBooks can remain closed.

03

Put the PDF into QuickBooks only if that is your ledger

One total, recorded once.

04

Do not run two due dates

The date on the text is the date you will chase.

What to put on this invoice

  • A short job invoice
  • A text the customer will read
  • QuickBooks still there if it runs the company
  • No second version of the total

Questions about this job

Does InvoiceTXT sync with QuickBooks?

No. You download the PDF or record the payment yourself. A sync you do not check is how totals drift.

Is this the best alternative for payroll too?

No. This is the alternative for the text invoice, not for the rest of QuickBooks.

What does it cost?

Solo is $9 a month for 30 invoices, Pro $19 for 150, Studio $49 for 600.

Replace the sending step if that is what hurts. Keep the ledger if you use the ledger.
