Plumber invoice by text message

Text the labour, the parts and the call-out before you leave the house. The customer can open the lines while the repair is still in front of them.

A plumbing bill that fits in a text

Plumbing arguments are usually about a part the customer did not see or a call-out they forgot you mentioned. Put those on separate lines and text the link while you are still in the kitchen. If they ask why the valve is 48, you can point at the old one. That conversation does not survive until Thursday.

Message you can send

Boiler at 14 Hill Street: 3 hours, a new valve and the call-out. Due in 14 days. Invoice: https://invoicetxt.com/i/your-link

01

Split labour, parts and the call-out

Three lines beat one round number. The call-out is not labour, and the valve is not labour.

02

Name the address in the text

If you cover more than one property for a landlord, the street stops the “which job?” reply.

03

Use the terms you quoted

Net 14 if that is what you said. Due on receipt if they agreed to pay before you left.

04

Send it from the number on your van

A new number plus a link looks like a scam, especially when the amount is a few hundred.

What to put on this invoice

  • Hours on site, with the rate
  • Each part, with its price
  • The call-out, if you charge one
  • The address in the text when you work for landlords

Questions about this job

Should the text include the warranty?

One line is enough: “Valve guaranteed 12 months.” Put the detail on the invoice if it is longer than that.

What if I have to come back?

Invoice the first visit now. The return visit is a new line or a new invoice, not a silent edit.

Can I text a landlord and a tenant?

Send the invoice to the person who is paying. You can tell the tenant the job is finished without sending them the total.

The full plumbing layout, with the same kind of lines, is on the plumber template if you want to start there next time.
