Awkward moments

Send an invoice when you have no laptop

The phone browser is enough. Type the line, copy the link, send the text. You do not need a desktop to produce the PDF.

Leave the laptop in the office

A lot of invoicing advice assumes you will “do the admin tonight” at a desk. That is how tonight becomes next week. The invoice line is short enough to type with a thumb. The preview adds the total. The PDF exists even though you never opened a laptop to design it. If your books still live in a desktop package, send this invoice now and record the payment there later. Waiting for the laptop is what makes the job unbilled.

Message you can send

Sent from my phone. Emergency open and the cylinder, due now: https://invoicetxt.com/i/your-link

01

Use the phone browser

You do not need the desktop site. The same page works on a handset.

02

Type a short line

Client, two or three prices, due date. Save the long description for a job that needs it.

03

Copy the link into the text app

You can switch apps. You do not need them side by side on a monitor.

04

Download the PDF only if someone asks

You can do that from the phone too. It is not a required step before you send.

What to put on this invoice

  • The prices in your head or in your notes
  • The customer’s number
  • A browser
  • A due date

Questions about this job

Will the PDF look like a phone screenshot?

No. The PDF is generated as a document. The phone only creates it.

What if I make a typing error?

Fix the line before you send. A thumb typo in a rate is the one thing worth reading twice.

Can I start on the phone and finish on a computer?

Yes. The invoice lives on the link, not on the device that created it.

The laptop is useful for the books. It is not required for the bill.
