Landscaper text invoice
Text the garden labour, the materials and the delivery separately. A single “garden work” total is what starts the dispute about the mulch.
Bill the garden in the same text you use to say you have finished
Landscaping customers often approve the work by looking out of the window. Send the invoice while the beds still look like the thing they asked for. Labour is the hours. Mulch, plants and topsoil are materials. Delivery is the third number if you charged to bring them. If green waste was extra, it is a fourth line, not a surprise next month.

Hours at a rate, then each material that has a real price.
Name the visit
“Garden maintenance” is enough if they have one property. Add the street if they have two.
Include delivery only if you charged it
A delivery line with no agreement is the line they will refuse.
Send a photo of the finished beds in the same chat
The photo shows the work. The link is the bill. Do not make them guess which is which.

What about a monthly maintenance contract?
Use the same shape each visit and say which week it covers in the text. The link is that visit’s invoice.
Should I wait until the plants settle?
Bill the work you did. A later replacement is a later invoice if you offered one.
Can I hide the labour inside a day rate?
You can charge a day rate. Write it as one line, “day rate 320”, so it is not pretending to be hours you did not count.
