How to send one
How to send a payment link by text
The link in the text opens the invoice: who you billed, the lines and the total. That is the payment link. Do not text a card number.
Send a link, not a card number
A payment link is the invoice address you text. The customer opens it and checks the work. The link is not a card form, and this product does not charge a card on that page. They pay by the method you already agreed, such as a transfer or cash, and you mark the invoice paid when the money arrives. The text is not the place for your bank login or their card. If the amount is wrong, you fix the invoice. You do not “correct” a payment by asking them to send a different sum to a new account in the same thread. That pattern is how fraud texts work, and customers are right to distrust it.
Create the invoice first
The link does not exist until the invoice does. Build the lines, then copy the link.
Say the amount in the text
The link should confirm the number, not reveal it. Write the total in the message.
Keep the thread on one invoice
If you revise the job, say what changed. Do not send a second link without explaining the first.
Mark it when the money arrives
When you record the invoice as paid, you can stop chasing that link.
What to put on this invoice
- The invoice link and nothing that looks like a password
- The total, written as a number
- The due date
- Your name and the job, so the text is not anonymous
Questions about this job
Does the link charge a card?
No. It opens the invoice so they can read the lines, download the PDF and leave an acknowledgement. You collect the money by the method you agreed.
Can I send the link before the job is finished?
Yes, for a deposit. Label the line as a deposit so it is not confused with the final bill.
What if they say they never got it?
Resend in the same thread. Do not switch to a new number and a new link with no explanation.
Treat the link as the bill. Treat the text as the sentence that introduces the bill.
