Simple invoice for cash jobs

Cash jobs still need an invoice. Text the link, take the cash, and mark the invoice paid so the cash has a record.

Give the cash job a paper trail without the paper

Cash is not a reason to skip the invoice. You need the total for your own week, and the customer needs a record if a partner or a bookkeeper asks where the money went. Send the invoice, take the cash, then mark it paid. The text can say “cash received” after you have it. Do not send a second demand. A simple invoice for this kind of job is a few lines, due on receipt, with no extra fields you will not use.

Message you can send

Cash is fine. This week’s walks are $90, marked on the invoice once you’ve handed it over: https://invoicetxt.com/i/your-link

01

Make the invoice before you count the cash

The total should match what you put in your pocket.

02

Mark it paid the same minute

An open cash invoice becomes a false debt.

03

Say cash in the follow-up, not as a secret

“Received in cash, thank you” closes the thread.

04

Keep the lines boring

Walks, hours, a fixed fee. Cash jobs do not need a long document.

What to put on this invoice

  • A short list of what the cash covered
  • Due on receipt
  • The amount you actually took
  • A paid status once the cash is in hand

Questions about this job

What if they want a receipt?

The invoice link, marked paid, is the receipt. They can download the PDF.

Should I add tax on a cash job?

If you charge tax, it is still due. Cash does not remove it. Put the tax on the invoice rather than in your head.

Is a cash invoice less formal?

It is shorter, not unofficial. The name, the work and the amount are what make it a record.

Cash without an invoice is how a week of work disappears from your numbers.
