Awkward moments

Invoice clients without email

Some customers do not check email, or never gave you one. Text them the invoice link. You do not need an email address to create the bill.

Skip the inbox

Email invoices fail quietly. They land in promotions, they go to an address from 2019, or the customer never had one they use. A text reaches the phone they used to book you. You still produce a proper invoice with lines and a PDF. You only change the delivery. Ask for the mobile number when you book the job, and keep it with the client. Do not ask them to “just check email” as a second step. If a bookkeeper later wants a file, the PDF is on the link.

Message you can send

No email needed. Shelf and the two hours are on this invoice, due today: https://invoicetxt.com/i/your-link

01

Book with a mobile number

If you only have an email, you are choosing the channel that already failed.

02

Send the link, not a screenshot

A screenshot has no PDF and no stable address. The link does.

03

Put the total in the text

They may never open a laptop to “see the details”.

04

Keep the PDF for anyone who asks later

No email at the start does not mean no record at the end.

What to put on this invoice

  • A mobile number you already message
  • The total and due date
  • The invoice link
  • A PDF on that page for their records

Questions about this job

What if they only use WhatsApp?

Send the same link there. You still do not need their email.

Can I invoice a company with no personal mobile?

Text the person who booked you, and put the company name on the invoice. Ask where their finance team wants the PDF.

Is this less professional than email?

A clear invoice in the channel they read is more professional than a perfect email they do not open.

The channel is a choice about where they look. The invoice is still a list of work and a total.
