Send the SMS from the board, not from the driveway later

The script separates labour, materials and a call-out because those are the three numbers electricians get asked about. If the visit was quoted as a fixed price, replace the hours with one line such as “consumer unit change 480” and delete the hourly piece. If there was no call-out, delete it in the line and in the SMS. Leaving “call-out” in the sentence when the price does not include one makes you look careless. Seven days is an example. Use the terms on your quote.

Message you can send

Electrical invoice: 6 hours labour, materials and the call-out. Due in 7 days. https://invoicetxt.com/i/your-link

01

Pick hours or a fixed price

Do not leave both in the script for the same work.

02

Name the expensive material if materials are large

“Materials 120” is fine for sundries. A new board should be named.

03

Drop the call-out when it does not apply

Planned work often has no emergency fee.

04

Use the quote’s due date

The script’s seven days is not a rule.

What to put on this invoice

  • Labour or a fixed job price
  • Materials
  • Call-out only if you charged it
  • The due terms from the quote

Questions about this job

What if I issued a certificate?

Add a line for the certificate if you charge for it. The SMS can say “certificate included” or “certificate 40”.

Should the SMS list the circuit?

Only if that circuit is why the price changed. Otherwise the invoice page is enough.

Is there a full template?

Yes. The electrician invoice template is the longer layout.

Three numbers, then delete the one you did not charge.
