Copy this electrician text

Electrical invoices get queried when “materials” is a lump that could be anything. Name the expensive parts in the line, and let small fixings sit in a materials total if listing every clip would make the SMS unreadable. The invoice page can hold the longer list. The text should still say labour, materials and call-out so the customer knows the shape of the bill before they tap.

Message you can send

Electrical work at Kamau Homes is invoiced. 6 hours labour, materials 120, call-out 35. Due in 7 days: https://invoicetxt.com/i/your-link

01

Write hours as hours

“6 hrs electrical work @ 45” is clear. “Electrics 270” makes them do the division themselves.

02

Keep the test or inspection as its own line

If you charged for a certificate or an inspection, it is not labour and it should not be hidden.

03

Match the due date to the quote

Seven days is common after a planned job. An emergency call-out is often due on receipt. Do not mix them.

04

Send the SMS before you leave the board

You can still open the consumer unit if they ask what the materials were.

What to put on this invoice

  • Labour hours and the rate
  • A materials total, or the expensive parts named
  • Call-out or emergency fee if charged
  • Certificate or inspection as its own line when you billed one

Questions about this job

Do I list every cable clip?

No. List what moves the total. A materials line is fine for the small parts.

What if the job is a quote that changed?

Say the change in the text: “Extra socket as agreed, added to the invoice.” Then send the link.

Can the SMS be the certificate?

No. The certificate is its own document. The SMS is the bill for the visit.

The longer electrician layout is the template linked below. This page is the message you send with it.
