Handyman text message invoice

A handyman visit is a list of small jobs. Text each one with its price so “a few bits around the house” does not become an argument.

List the small jobs instead of bundling them

Handyman work is a pile of fifteen-minute tasks. Bundling them into “general labour” feels vague when the customer remembers asking for three specific things. Give each agreed task a line, and use hours only for the time that was not a fixed price. If they added the door while you were there, it goes on this invoice, not on a follow-up they did not expect.

Message you can send

Done at yours: 2 hours, the shelf and the door. Due today. Lines are here: https://invoicetxt.com/i/your-link

01

One line per thing they asked for

Shelf, door, curtain rail. They should recognise the list.

02

Hours only where you actually charged time

A fixed shelf price plus hours for the other work is fine. Double-charging the shelf as hours and a fee is not.

03

Due on receipt for a half-day visit

Small jobs get forgotten if the due date is a month away.

04

Send it in the same chat as the photos

If they sent pictures of the door, the invoice belongs under those pictures.

What to put on this invoice

  • Each agreed task
  • Hours, if the visit was not all fixed prices
  • Materials you bought, named
  • Due on receipt unless you offered terms

Questions about this job

What if I did five things and only two were on the quote?

The text should say “door added as agreed on site”. Then it is part of this bill.

Should I charge a minimum visit?

Yes, as its own line, “minimum visit 80”, if that is your rule and you told them before you arrived.

Can I invoice a building manager for several flats?

Use one invoice per flat or one invoice with a line per flat. Do not make them guess which total belongs where.

A clear list is the whole trick. The customer should nod at every line.
