InvoiceTXT vs traditional invoicing apps

Traditional apps assume you will sit down and fill a form. InvoiceTXT assumes you will type one line and text the link. The books may still live in the other app.

A sending tool is not a ledger

Traditional invoicing apps are built for customers, items, tax codes and reports. They are heavy on a doorstep and excellent on a Sunday when you want to see the month. InvoiceTXT is the opposite shape. You type the job, you get a link, you text it, you can download a PDF and you can mark it paid or acknowledged. It does not replace payroll, bank reconciliation or a tax return. If you already run the books somewhere else, keep doing that. Use this when the gap is “the invoice never got sent because I was in the van”.

Message you can send

Van repair invoiced from the driveway. Diagnostic, labour and alternator, due today: https://invoicetxt.com/i/your-link

01

Use InvoiceTXT at the moment the job ends

That is the job the form-based app keeps losing.

02

Keep your ledger if you have one

Record the payment there when it arrives.

03

Do not enter the same job in two systems and then edit only one

If both are in use, decide which one is the source of the total.

04

Judge it on sent invoices, not on reports

Reports are why the other app exists.

What to put on this invoice

  • A one-line capture for the driveway
  • A link you can text
  • A PDF for the file
  • Your existing books, if you rely on them

Questions about this job

Will this import my old invoices?

Not as a migration project. You can recreate a template line for the jobs you repeat.

Is it cheaper than a full app?

Plans are $9, $19 and $49 a month, by volume. A full accounting suite may still be worth it if you need the books. They answer different questions.

Can my accountant use it?

They can use the PDFs. They do not get a general ledger from this alone.

If the problem is sending, this is the tool. If the problem is the year-end, keep the heavier app.
